On the 23rd of December a Kids Carnival was organised at The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata and was an awesome event to attend the children of the family enjoyed to the fullest. We had paid a nominal fee and received 5 star services ,food, freebees and also a goodie to take along. Will surely attend all the events organised for children.
I took two walks with them, The White Town Walk & The Black Town Walk. What an experience to know the city with it's diversities and confluence of culture. It was a great decision to take walking tours. It's the best way to know the city . There is so much to see and know while you take a walk. Our guide mark was very informative and friendly and he had a great sense of humor which made our walk enjoyable and happening. I would surely recommend Calcutta caravan to everyone.
We did a kolkata City tour with Mark. He is a great guy and an excellent guide. A true ethusiast who loves to show his city. He was very informative, and the best part was the way he gave the information, that made it more interesting. Would definitely recommend calcutta caravan to anyone who wants to see and know Kolkata up-close and if you are lucky, you may get Mark as your guide.
An excellent way to discover and learn about Kolkata. We did two walking tours with them - one each day - all with a hugely informative local tour expert. Thoroughly recommended for anyone who wants to explore Kolkata to its roots and for the foodies, do not forget to try the local street food. Cheers.
Mark has a very charming personality and has good knowledge of the city. He is very helpful and offers interesting facts about Kolkata. He was able to help us efficiently manage time through the city tour by guiding us through lanes and alleys of Kolkata, which can be tricky. He also gave us good knowledge about each site we visited while he drove us around. All in all it was a very refreshing experience, highly recommended.
I did twoo tou with Mark. He is very professionnal, He will be always there for you, very helpful (even after the tour). He gave good information and is very open for discussion.
If you go to Kolkata you will like to have him for guided you around.
Very beautiful experience in Kolkata. Mark is a special guide and he showed us real life in Kolkata. We spent our time walking on the streets, visiting a slum, and meeting friendly people. We think is a good chance to know this city. So, thank you very much!
Thank you Mark for our explicit tour of Kolkata. The tour was very well organised and detailed. My children were very comfortable and happy to tour with you. See you in Dec-2018.
Well, writing a review is tough, but I can share the awesome experience I had with Calcutta Caravan; especially with my tour guide Mark. I have been raised in the city of joy, I went out to several places under the guidance of my Dad and I fell in love with the city during my adolescence. I wanted to know more about the metropolis - the places which were not really considered for site-seeing. A friend suggested the name of Calcutta Caravan. I arranged a group of friends and requested Mark to conduct a heritage tour in and around Kolkata. Did you ever stop to take a look at Writer's Building across Lal Dighi? I was captivated by the view. We visited the St. Andrews Kirk, the imposing white domed structure – the General Post Office, the Commercial House providing lease to several organizations. One can also get a glimpse of the Raj Bhavan – Governor’s House and the Reserve Bank of India which was earlier known as the Currency building. Not only this, a walk around the Dalhousie Square will take you back to the old Calcutta despite the hustle and bustle of the modern city. Lots of unknown and interesting facts were discussed during the tour. My friends and I never knew so much about our very own home town! I can't thank Mark enough, for being such a cordial guide. Will look forward to being a part of more of these tours with you. Keep up the great work buddy!
Hi Deep, my aunt and family have been delighted with the Calcutta Caravan's hospitality during her last month’s trip to Kolkata.
Do send me the pics that you had clicked so that I can share with them.
I thought it is important I share her views for everyone to see.
She said it was a fab little tour. Snaking across the city, highlighting different areas and stopping for well-chosen snacks and drinks, with careful attention to dietary needs and different tastes it was a perfect mix of just everything that was essential. The stops reflected the diversity of the city and Deep is lovely and enthusiastic. He shared beautiful snippets of Kolkata's rich history and information about the goodies which are just right for the event.
My aunt and her family really enjoyed their experience with Calcutta Caravans and they would definitely recommend it.
We were in Kolkata for few days in October decided to take a day tour to the Mother house, Dalhousie Square and few more places to see. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Extremely well organized, right from pickup to the drop to how it was timed with right amount of breaks. Our tour guide Mark was very friendly, jovial, history lesson at its best for all ages and we were totally immersed in the guide’s level of details.
Walking the streets of Kolkata was great, there is no way we could have picked the right places, and spent the right time the way the tour guide did. With so much to see and experience, we never once felt rushed and had always time for meals.
On our way back, we wanted to head to a specific location in Kolkata, and they helped us find the fastest and best mode of transportation to get there.
We compared prices before we booked Calcutta Caravan, it was not only the cheapest, but it was worth the price we paid. If you want a quick day trip, I would recommend Calcutta Caravan.
